Character description of Primrose Everdeen

Author's Note: This short response is about one character in the book, The Hunger Games By Suzanne Collins.

Prim is a young twelve year old girl that lives in District Twelve. Prim is short for Primrose, which is her full name. Prim is as little as a mouse and lives with her sister and mother. At the reaping her name got called to go to the Hunger Games. Since it was her first year to have her name in the bucket, it was very unlikely for her to get picked. Primrose was scared to death when her name got chosen out of the bucket. At the reaping she wore a long dress with her hair in braids and was screaming like she was watching a horror film, when her name got called. Katniss, her sister was as brave as a warrior to volunteer for Prim. Prim would not be able to survive by herself in the wild if it wasn’t for Katniss. She can get very happy real easy. For example when Katniss got her, her beautiful new goat, she cried with happiness. Prim is as sweet as the smell of a flower on a spring day, no matter what the circumstance.

Prim is the youngest in her family. Since their father died, it is up to Katniss and Prim to get the food and go to school. Prim can milk her goat and trade the milk for food. Throughout the book you find out that Prim is very loved by her sister. Since Katniss volunteered for tribute, she had mixed emotions about everything. During the games Katniss is always thinking and praying for her.

  1. I thought you did a really nice job using figurative language! It was clear throughout the entire piece and easy for me to understand. The only thing I saw was maybe to put the author of the book within the author's note. Other than that great job!)
