Character Description of Prim

Author's Note: Prim is the little sister in the book "The Hunger Games". I am writing a short response about Prim in the book.

Prim is a young twelve year old girl that lives in district twelve. Prim is short for Primrose, which is her full name. Prim is short and lives with her sister and mother. Her father died in a coal mine explosion. At the reaping her name got called to go to the Hunger Games. Since it was her first year to have her name in the bucket, it was very unlikely for her to get picked. At the reaping she wore a long dress with her hair in braids and was screaming in terror when her name got called. Katniss, her sister was so brave to volunteer for Prim. Prim would not be able to survive by herself in the wild.

Prim is the youngest in her family. Then she has her older sister Katniss and her mother. Since their father died, it is up to Katniss and Prim to get the food and got to school. Prim can milk her goat and trade for food that is either better or anything like soap or clothes. Prim and her family don’t have a lot of money. Throughout the book you find out that Prim is very loved by her sister. Since Katniss volunteered for tribute, she had mixed emotions. I think that people will ignore her or talk to her about the Hunger Games and that will make her mad and sad all because her name got chosen. During the games Katiniss is always thinking about Prim and how she loves her and is always thinking and praying for her.
